Career receipts
Every result, review and note I’ve kept from my corporate career.
I don’t teach career and money from theory. This is what happened when I did the work on my own Creator Field, from a $7-an-hour opening shift at a bagel shop to becoming a multi-six-figure earner, and turning down a promotion along the way. Names and brands are kept private.
By the numbers
Two months after a performance plan, I got a 64% raise. Ten months later, I got another 61%.
The common thread
None of this was luck. It was my Career Creator Field.
Every receipt on this page came after I changed what was running in my Career Creator Field: what I believed I was worth, what felt safe to ask for, and how I expected leadership to see me. Then I made the real-world moves to match.
That’s the exact work we do together. I read your Creator Field, find the script running your career, and give you the ingredients to change it with 100% of the energetic and 100% of the physical.
- 01Find the script keeping you overlooked or underpaid
- 02Rewrite your career self-image on purpose
- 03Make the moves that get you seen, valued and paid

Career results
Tap a year. From a baking business at 13 to a Top performance rating, chapter by chapter.
My most recent company
Rated Top in my first eligible quarter, three quarters over quota in a row, and recruited away by a partner from another platform. They offered me a promotion to stay. I said no.
How the year unfolded
- First eligible quarter
Rated Top, a rating given to 2 of about 100 people in my vertical (about 8 of 400 across all of Sales).
- Second quarter
142% to goal, while new hires could only be rated “Meets.”
- Quarter after quarter
Over quota three quarters in a row.
Usually people have one good then one bad quarter… 3 in a row is unheard of.
- Six days in
Hit one account’s quarterly quota six days into the quarter, recognized publicly by three senior leaders.
- Doing two jobs
Carried both the account manager and Client Partner workload after my Client Partner left, as primary contact on four accounts.
- Final quarter
158% of target, and an incremental million-dollar deal closed in my last weeks.
- The next role
Recruited by a partner from another platform after one joint client call, to stay on the same clients with a 61% total comp increase.
- On the way out
Offered a promotion to Client Partner to keep me. I said no, because the role and pay didn’t fit my life. I chose my own timeline.

The last day of peak season
A financial services client on the final day of their busiest season: about $200K undelivered with two hours left and campaigns trending at 86–94%. I shifted budget into the two most efficient ad sets, and they closed at 99–100%. The season beat a $23M stretch goal to finish at $28M.
A brand that had gone dark
Off the platform for over a year and pitching us against two other platforms. I built a beta custom-conversion test, we won the pitch, costs dropped 38–47%, and their budget doubled.
An account that had missed two quarters
I moved the test strategy to landing-page views. It finished $471K above plan while holding its efficiency goal.
A room of 25 engineers
I led a measurement session for the client’s technical team and rerouted it live when a blocker surfaced. Leadership called it a masterclass in presentation excellence.
A blocked data signal
A two-path plan kept the client’s December test alive. Their privacy team later approved the signal for value-based bidding.
Outside my own book
A one-off ask from another team became ongoing advisory, and the Senior Client Partner called me a life saver.
My final-round case
Traced a $28.50 vs. $40 ROAS gap to one ad group holding 40% of spend, and projected $12.1–13.2M in revenue against $10M as-is.
The company before
Two years, a $300M+ book, and in year two I went from a performance plan to a 64% raise in two months.
How the two years unfolded
- 2024 · Year one
Rebuilding, and getting noticed fast.
- February
Started the job after a layoff and a year of building my own business. My first six figures, at 26.

Led an International Women’s Day activity across three global offices, and built the women’s ERG’s Slack workflow.
- Six weeks in
Hosted the global customer success team meeting with a new “insights from a newbie” segment.
- Under two months in
Took on my first onboarding client and got a complex weather-triggered automation test live in under a week.
- Through the year
Turned around a guarded premium retail client, became the subject matter expert for three products, and trained five-plus new hires.
- Client conference
Brought 18 customers to the annual client conference, the most of anyone in customer success.
- December
Launched a new channel for a sports and entertainment client, working weekends and the holiday break through their busiest season.
- Year-end push
3 wins in 11 minutes, and 6 wins in 2 days to close out the year.
- 2025 · Year two
The biggest wins, and the hardest season.
- Through the year
Account owner on renewals including roughly $5M, $1.2M and $765K, renewed one client at 2.5x their committed contract value, and saved one client 6.5K hours.
- August
Earned a 100 on my MBA capstone. Applied for a Client Partner promotion. Didn’t get it.
- Kickoff season
Went straight to the ad platform’s product team to get a new ad format launched in time for a client’s biggest season.
- October
Put on a performance improvement plan. The script was in my Creator Field, not my calendar.
- Three weeks later
Interviewing at a major tech platform. A global director said I was
perfect and could start tomorrow,
and every interviewer rated me 10/10. - December 1
Officially off the plan, with glowing feedback from my manager.
- December 4
Accepted the new offer: a 64% total comp increase.
- December 11
My first no-notes presentation, called
so polished and engaging
by my manager and the head of my department.

Lifetime value
Used the client’s parent company earnings call to make the case for moving 10% of budget into reactivation. My deck was escalated to their SVP.
A guarded premium retail client
Turned the relationship around over a one-on-one lunch with their director, and got a new reporting product green-lit.
A sports and entertainment client
Went straight to the ad platform’s product team to get a new ad format launched in time for their biggest season.

Alongside the day job
Teaching English at 3am
A data analyst by day, I taught English to students in China overnight: 3am to 8am on weekdays, and 10pm to 8am on weekends.
Still writing
I kept up my editorial internship alongside my full-time job.
A book
Self-published Through My Dog’s Eyes
in January 2021, a memoir to help heal grief.
Creating from Singapore
Singapore is where I started creating content: a food TikTok, a monetized ASMR channel, and teaching money and manifestation.
My first group money program
Opened the Abundance Accelerator, my first group program teaching money and manifestation.
Where it started
Everything outside corporate that shaped me: my first business at 13, knocking on strangers’ doors, and five jobs at once as a full-time student. Every one of them raised my baseline.
How it unfolded
- At 13
Started my first business, Megan’s Goodies. I took orders over DM, baked after school and sold out every time. It was my first time learning how to make money.
- At 16
Started studying manifestation, energetics and soul circles.
- Door to door
Canvassed door to door, and loved collecting strangers’ stories so much that I wrote my college essay about it.
- The summer before college
A $7-an-hour opening shift at a bagel shop, where the deli guys taught me Spanish between orders.
- College
Five jobs at once: retail at the NYU Bookstore and The Children’s Place, 5am Starbucks shifts before 10am classes, bartending, and admin work in the provost’s office.
- Summer weekends
Ran events for collegiate rugby tournaments: 25 teams, cashiers to schedule, and $20K+ a day in registers to balance.
- Writing
Published 38 articles as a freelance journalist, interviewing local business owners for a parenting magazine at $50 an article.
- Internships
Grew a brand’s Instagram from 0 to 2,000 followers in three months and drove 400+ sales, then landed the analytics internship that started my corporate career.
- On campus
Vice President of Member Education for a chapter of about 150 women.
What each one taught me
Megan’s Goodies
How to make something from nothing, and how to price, sell and deliver. I was selling in the DMs before it was a business model.
Door to door
How to hear “no” all day and knock anyway. Behind every door is a person with a story.
The bagel shop
How to stay calm when someone tries to make me small. Every difficult client since has been easier.
5am Starbucks shifts
Discipline isn’t a personality trait. I built it one 5am shift at a time.
Retail
Details matter, and someone else can always take a job away. It showed me I’d have to build something nobody could take away.
The provost’s office
How senior leaders actually operate, years before I had a seat at the table.
Bartending
How to read a room in seconds, and talk to literally anyone.
Journalism and events
How to ask the right questions, and how to manage people, money and chaos all at once.

She is approachable, professional, and highly competent in her work. Megan collaborates with ease and reliability, and her positive attitude combined with strong capabilities makes her a valuable asset to any organization.
Megan has been so lovely to work with over the past year and a half as our CSM. She is attentive, diligent, and overall a warm person to be around! Her dedication to her work ethic really shows as she was consistently making processes and communication with her as a CSM very smooth. She is always willing to make processes easier for our team, collaborate on new ideas, and make sure she has her clients best interest at the forefront! Megan is approachable, helpful, and puts her clients first! Anyone is lucky to be able to work alongside Megan as she is a team player!
At [the company], Megan helped launch our APAC business in Singapore by managing some of our largest client relationships across the region. Despite a high degree of complexity in her role, Megan’s attention to detail, exceptional people skills and ability to learn on the fly contributed greatly to our success as a small but mighty team in APAC. Megan is a great steward of her work who goes above and beyond what’s needed to deliver value to both her company and her clients, and I’ve no doubt she’ll add tremendous value wherever she lands next.
If you are looking for a team member with charisma, poise, excellent communication, with whip-smart data and marketing strategy expertise, Megan is it. When I first met Megan, I had the pleasure of observing her leading our team through training exercises. Based on her mannerisms, presentation skills, ability to provide immediate feedback, and coaching throughout the training, I immediately assumed she was more senior than she was at the time. Megan is an absolute star. She has an uncanny ability to manage Fortune 500 clients in a partnership capacity, devise overarching client strategy, understand how to connect to a “big picture”, communicate a meaningful story from data points, digest complex information and action on it quickly. Throughout my time working with Megan at a tech company, I was impressed at how she seemed to be a sponge; taking in feedback and putting it into action. Not only can Megan deliver quality work and client partnership satisfaction, she also can identify opportunities for product development and advancements, and help prioritize them into action. I hope I am fortunate enough to work with Megan again in the future!
[The company] is my go-to partner if I want something done quickly and excellently, a huge chunk of that is thanks to Megan. Megan Vasquez is truly one of the best accounts management partner I’ve worked with. She’s able to understand briefs on the get-go and asks the most critical questions. She knows how to balance client servicing and managing her team. Overall, grateful for the opportunity to work with her and I hope our paths cross again in the future.
Megan grew during her time at [the company] from Strategic Client Associate to Strategic Client Manager over the course of two years. She has a positive attitude, is process-oriented, extremely organized and always willing to help her teammates. She made a big impact, both during her time in New York and her time in Singapore where she helped the team launch our APAC offering. I have no doubt Megan will go on to have a very successful career.
When I first started at [the company], I was fortunate enough to go through onboarding led by Megan. Little did I know that Megan was one of our team’s most impassioned, dedicated, and strategic analysts, proving how data-driven insights can elevate brand marketing. Megan possesses a multifaceted skill set that will embolden her to excel in any role: consumer-focused servicing for any client facing role, an analytic mind to execute on data, and an understanding of marketing strategy to empower any brand. Megan is the type of contributor you want on your team, and I have no doubt she will make extraordinary impact wherever her career takes her.
Having worked with Megan for 2 projects [for two global beer brands], I must say she is an exceptional professional. Her understanding of client’s need is outstanding, and her innovative approach to tackle and solve problems helped us throughout the project. She is not only a reliable and forward-thinking person but also an inspiring team player. I have no hesitation in recommending Megan.
It was very pleasant to work with Megan for the past year. Her attitude is what sets her apart from most people. She makes it a point to understand the client’s perspective to be able to provide feedback that would create innovative solutions. She is also the type of client manager that also shares best practices and new things to be able to give a point of view that is value adding for us to drive more effective content and media.
Had a pleasure to work with Megan as I am the head of eCommerce for [a global consumer brand in Thailand]. The project was tough but I appreciate Megan sincere consultation and resilience in finding the solution for us. She is hardworking & willing to help. I also appreciate her data driven insight that helped us in driving the business. As a client, was happy to be taken care of by Megan as I know she would give us her best to serve the business needs.
Megan is extremely methodical, organized and charismatic. I worked with Megan on several new hire onboarding projects where she was always willing to go the extra mile. She possesses strong thought leadership attributes, as well as a keen eye for detail and thoroughness. Any company would be lucky to have her and her positive can-do attitude!
Megan was extremely proactive and knowledgeable of all things digital. It was a pleasure to work with Megan across a new business rollout.
Megan delivered outstanding client management and data analytics service for Fortune 500 brands during our time working together at [the company]. Megan is resourceful and motivated, which was essential in a role that demanded finding answers from a variety of sources depending on the challenge at-hand. She has a positive and outspoken attitude, which translated to superior candor when speaking with clients. When clients asked questions about analysis details during presentations, Megan was quick to jump in and clarify based on her executional work with the data. Lastly, Megan has innate curiosity that elevates the standards of her role; with the temperament of an eternal student, she is eager to elevate her contributions beyond her position’s standard responsibilities in order to understand the “why” behind the work. It was a joy to manage and mentor Megan. I look forward to seeing her continued excellence as she moves forward in her career.
It was an absolute pleasure working with Megan as her direct manager during her time at [the agency]. She joined the agency as an intern and after a successful internship experience she was hired as a full time employee. From day 1, Megan was always highly enthusiastic about working on new projects and learning new skills. She arrived with little experience in data management and analytics, but her motivation, her ability to learn quickly and her effective use of agency resources allowed her to grow rapidly and support the team across a variety of challenging projects - including data collection, processing and analysis tasks. Megan took the time to develop new skills independently and always had the initiative to reach out and support team members across different projects. She was an excellent team-player, a great communicator and an overall nice person to work with. I am sure that her experience working on the Analytics team at [the agency] will serve her well in her next role.
Megan is a dedicated and focused worker who helped our team a great amount during her time interning with [the company]. Our team could always trust her to work closely with our clients as she was always poised, professional, and helpful in correspondences and went the extra mile to ensure they were serviced according to their schedules, even if it meant she had to work outside of the office. She took on every project that came her way with enthusiasm, and went on to do strong freelance work for me when her internship ended.
Megan is a passionate leader, with expertise in the areas of organization, event planning, delegation, and creative problem-solving. Her positive attitude in any context is contagious and remains intact even in the face of obstacles. Megan served in the position of vice president: member education on the Chapter Management Team of [my sorority] during my term as chapter president. She is a team player who creates a respectful work environment and responds productively to constructive feedback. I have seen Megan go above and beyond in collaborating with peers and planning spectacular events for our group of approximately 150 collegiate women. She is eager to learn new skills and information and is more than willing to spend a great deal of time and energy to accomplish her personal, academic, and professional goals. Working with Megan was an overtly positive experience because she made team members feel valued and heard. To that end, I am proud of the work that Megan did to improve the education of members within our organization, and I would highly recommend her to any employer.
Megan was a rockstar intern on our team. She jumped on every assigned task with eagerness and efficiency. She brought creativity and enthusiasm to her work. Megan searched for solutions on her own before asking for assistance and offered problem-solving ideas. I was extremely impressed by her professionalism and excellent communication skills.
Megan is hardworking, curious, and enthusiastic. She has great communication skills and will tackle any project with focus and diligence. I was lucky to have her on my team and can’t wait to see what she does next.
I advised Megan in her role as the vp of Member Education in [my sorority]. During our time together, Megan was extremely dedicated to the role; she was organized, met all of her deadlines, and was entirely self-sufficient. I never felt the need to follow up or confirm if a task was completed because she would proactively accomplish tasks and let me know once they were finalized. I found Megan to be reliable and a source of knowledge in her role; other team members could count on her to explain processes & procedures, and ultimately execute on them. In addition, Megan was passionate about her position and took pride in all of the work she was doing. I truly enjoyed our time working together and I look forward to seeing what she accomplishes next!

None of this happened because I jumped to a better job. It happened because I changed what was running in my Career Creator Field, and then made the moves. Let’s do that for your career.
